China had played and would continue to play a constructive role on the Myanmar issue said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao on Tuesday. China always supported the mediation efforts by the UN secretary general and his special envoy and would sincerely desire to see a peaceful stable democratic and developing Myanmar. Liu said. On the upcoming 11th meeting among leaders from the ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations). China. Japan the Republic of Korea. Liu said China would respect the views of related countries on whether to discuss the Myanmar air at the meeting stressing that the issue was essentially the internal affairs of Myanmar itself. Does this mean I can post my failed photoshop contest entries here and have some of the proffesional photoshop people on this forum give me ideas on how to alter them better or how to use tools better?I'm working on photoshop on and off for 6 months or so so I still have a lot to learn. But it is addictive!Thank you,Steve Assuming you do not get the critique you search for during the contest then by all means come here point to the visualise/entry in question and ask for enlightenment. After 6 months I knew nothing and here I am some five years into visualise editing and I still know nothing Voters can comment on your image and offer their thoughts. You will see these comments on the contest entry page below your image only you the author and the staff can see them while the contest is in the voting process they become visible to everyone when voting has finished. Comments can be added after a contest has closed. Dave you have been very helpful through all my questions. One last one... After voting is over do I get individual scores (I convey individual scores of my entry like how many 3's or 4's or 7's I got.) Of cover I would not need to see the scorer's name that's private. I understand. Just for my own curiosity! Thanks,Steve No you do not get individual scores... reason? It causes too much controversy in our opinion... and if you're getting 3's. 4's and 7's for the same visualise there's something very wrong with one or two peoples voting integrity. I don't know if it's voting "integrity" or not. I think some people simply have different tasts as to what is "good" or "challenging." There have been a number of times when I undergo thought a picture was outstanding rated it very highly and seen it come in near the furnish. The reverse is also true. I think some people choose for the creativity of a post.. others for the difficulty or skill shown and still others DO have "integrity" issues. I always find it helpful to read (and re-read) the sticky about voting. There are several places to find the voting guidelines. It helps put (voting) it into perspective especially when there is an influx of newer members. OK then. I was just asking because Photoshop is a new animal I'm trying to alter. I construe a lot of tutorials in my spare time and practice a lot. So if I get a 5 or above. I should be happy!Thank you all for your back up!Steve All times are GMT -5. "India Needs Constructive Politics" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 20:47:25

At time of every Elections we see a lot of goons are create from raw material to contest with the support of some political parties and they earn victory with money muscle power and politics. We seldom see this situation in the history of BJP. Congress and other regional parties. I desire to give some examples to draw the political crimes which are recently occurred:1. The Bihar police arrested JD(U) MLA Anant Singh and four others on November 1. 2007 for allegedly assaulting journalists after taking them hostage and attacking their colleagues when they protested. His men bashed up journalists again when Mr. Singh was being taken to confine and he threatened journalists with dire consequences.2. The press fist of law slammed ex-UP attend and Samajwadi Party MLA Amarmani Tripathi and his vengeful wife Madhumani with life sentences on October 24. 2007 along with two others who had conspired to kill poet Madhumita Shukla four years ago.3. The Uttar Pradesh chief attend Mayawati this measure not only took time in asking her Food Processing minister Anand Sen Yadav allegedly involved in the kidnapping of a 24 year old girl Shashi from Faizabad to resign but also recommended a CBI investigate to analyse the matter which rocked the state assembly proceedings on November 6. 2007. Now-a-days some media and politicians show the culprit's true face to the public. Now main political parties started to use Naxalites and Maoists to destroy their opponents. It is a shocking technique as well as pathetic approach. Nandigram capturing was another attempt to kill the show government and grasp the rule in West Bengal by Congress. BJP. Maoists. SUCI. Jamaat-e-Islami. CPI(ML). India needs constructive politics to make a future India.

"1st post-constructive critism needed" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-03 23:59:47

I have been lurking here for awhile but just got the nerve to actually affix a picture. I'd really acknowledge any helpful suggestions. This photo of my sister is one of the first pictures I took with my new Rebel XTi. I previously used a Rebel SLR so I'm just getting familiar with the digital. I desire this photo but I experience it needs some improvements. I think the bright area to the right of the picture is slightly distracting. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I'm not sure where to mouth with editing (I'm not that good at it especially since I don't undergo photoshop yet) I accept I took this one in automatic setting ( I know. I'm venturing from automatic now though) Are the reflections on her eyes distracting or am I just being too picky? Thanks! I would crop in a little on both sides to carry more emphasis on the subject. The bright white accent is a little distracting but is an easy fix. Just mask out the subject and the brick wall next to her and displace the exposure aim of the accent. As for the reflections in her eyes you can just fill them in with the alter from other portions of her eye. (Note: catchlights do add a bit of life to the eye but I feel in this shot there is a little too much reflection and you lose a little bit of color in the eyes.)Nice even lighting in this photo very safe for portraits but it does lack in drama. Overall a nice portrait. As far as not having Photoshop there are people here who use a remove program called GIMP and from what I understand it's pretty powerful. You might wanna give that a shot. It helps when the background is somewhat darker than the affect so as to not call attention to it over the subject through an extreme differentiate ratio of tones. But you also have to analyse where the subject's hair may blend in with the darker background as it does here. Just a suggestion but it is more flattering especially for females to act their portraits from a slightly higher camera viewpoint so as to not be shooting "up their look." In this inspect she could have tipped her head drink slightly. When a broad expanse of lighten area creates large catchlights you will have to resort to an external fill radiate or reflectors to provide a brighter light source or resolve to correct the shape of the catchlight with affix processing. Having said all this you undergo captured a very pleasant portrait of your sister. Keep shooting and sharpen your skills with practice. For just starting out very nice. I accept with the above comments about cropping tighter. Also. I evaluate a portrait orientation would work better for this particular shot. alter your subject pretty much fill the space. I evaluate the lighten spot to the right if it were smaller percentage-wise is a good contrast with her dark hair. It's not that the lighten area is a problem as much as the be of it is a problem. As has already been said this could be selectively darkened in post-processing too. The focus appears to be a little off too. It appears it's on the bricks with her face being a bit soft. Make sure the focus is on her eyes. Typically I put the auto focus position on the center spot. This allows me to put that red dot on the eye press the shutter release down half way to lock in the cerebrate close in the image and then release the close. Just a suggestion but it is more flattering especially for females to take their portraits from a slightly higher camera viewpoint so as to not be shooting "up their look." Yes the key is to have the lie coming out from the camera to be perpendicular to the model; the camera may still be below the model as long as the copy/camera relationship is maintained. Keep up the good work. Cheers. your sister is a beautiful girl and my money's on that she's quite happy with her portrait.... you've had some really good critiques so far..... rex's suggestion will take you some measure to master.... and doc in my opinion is a great "in the camera" photographer.... he has the best tips on portraits... now i can't see how you metered this.. but i'm guessing it was an evaluative mode.... as her skin is slightly overexposed..... i undergo found that bracketing my exposures helps me tremdously when i get my images back to my computer allowing me to decide then and there what's the beat of the clump.... i often "breathe out out" my backgrounds and from some sage advice i've received here i undergo learned to pay closer attention to them when i compose my shot.... sometimes a go or two in the right direction can alter a high contrast accent..... this is a wonderful visualise to share here and i thank you for the opportunity to see it... keep posting!peeper

"Drawing the line between constructive criticism and whining" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-23 17:59:29

With the spiritual assay demanding patience and gratitude. I sight it difficult to decipher what is constructive criticism and what is just pure whining. The city I be in has security fairly adequate social services and facilitates the ability to acquire needed items for everyday living. Alhumdulilah wa biShukrillah all praise and gratitude is due to God for this blessing. But there is a lot lacking. And what is lacking many times becomes frustrating which sometimes I charge about either internally or externally. I remind myself though when I charge that I am drowning in God’s mercy and compassion and have been showered in immense blessing that I can actually enjoy unfettered and how theses blessings arouse any negativity real or perceived that I may encounter. But sometimes there are major issues in this city which is situated in a “developing” country that really forbid me and I feel obliged to point them out because they seem not only a hindrance or perhaps danger to me but to others as well. And I think this measure part concerning the cause of things on others is key in deciding between what is whining and what is constructive criticism. A friend told me concerning drawing this line: “Legitimate critique demands improvement while useless whining demands only discontent.” I evaluate this aphorism helps me answer my question come up because if inwardly we are unsound and discontent the sadness of the soul ordain be manifest outwardly because it will only see through the lens of unhappiness. However if something legitimately needs to be fixed then it should be pointed out. this criticism should be coupled with constructive answers that can not only be grasped tangibly (in other words sans abstract theorizing) but also easily acted on. And this. I accept then demands improvement which is what in the end we are seeking.

"Potentially Constructive Implications of Disaster in Iraq" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-07 17:41:43

It now appears likely that the invasion of Iraq will prove to be a seminal event in the evolution of international security generally. Legal request has evidently collapsed throughout the country and the occupying forces have not been able to control the resulting copy of predatory violence. The central reason is that the United States forfeited at the outset the critical asset of legitimacy necessary to establish and maintain consensual rule and its continued presence undermines the indigenous institutions it is attempting to nurture. Similar breakdowns undergo occurred in other parts of the world and the consequences undergo been tolerated over extended periods of time. Because of timing location and the entanglement of the United States however intractable violence in Iraq can be expected to have much stronger global resonance. American forces alone are not likely to be able to master the situation but neither can they be withdrawn without intensifying internal violence and extending it into an already volatile region. The potential consequences of that dilemma are ominous but for that reason the situation presents opportunity as come up as danger. Calamity is sometimes a catalyst for greater wisdom.
